Lady Q

Lady Q is the title of a book i enjoyed reading. What I read in the book was sad but in reality it is true. The author Reymundo Sanchez talks about this young girl who lives in the city of Chicago. This girl was abused at a young age by her stepfather. Then she molested by her own uncle and sadly she got beated up by her mother when she told her. When i start to read this book I was annoyed at the mother. Honestly a mother to me should always listen to what a daughter has to say. I kept reading this book because it also brings in the gang violence that young kids live some times in the cities or other parts of the world. This families live in really bad neighborhoods were all the violence happens. Kids have contact to drugs much easier than other kids. These kids grow up to be kid that wished they had a better live, and some do really hramful things and they get locked up for life. This book helped be realize that not every child has everything they want or need. When I finished reading this book i was really thankful for the things I had and for the live style I live. This young girl also got involved in the latin kings and she became a Lady Queen because The latins were her family at one point until she stopped selling drugs and doing the other bad things they ordered her to do. That is when she realized that drugs and gang was not life. I really would recommend this book to everyone. Reymundo Sanchez does a really good job explaining with detail what happens to the girl and her family.

eczema

What is eczema? Eczema is a skin disease that the cause is unknown. This disease starts out by itching in the knees, face, feet, and hands. The areas that are affected by this are usually thick, scaly, or dry. Any one can get this disease. Little kids usually get this mostly on their face. Eczema is usually found in the families that have history of allergies or asthma. Eczema is a very unwanted disease. I have a family member that has this disease and it has a very intense care specially when they are little. When my cousin was born he was put in like a blue ray light to help his skin out. When he was about two months old he started itching his cheeks a lot. He got to the point where his cheeks were bleeding because he was scratching too much. They took him to the doctor and at first they did not know what was wrong. Then his legs became very dry and scaly looking. That is when they figured out that he had eczema. Because of this my aunt has to wash his clothes separately. My aunt also needs to put ointment all over his body so the eczema does not come back as bad as when he was younger. This disease is just controlled with oinment and special care.

Snoring

What causes snoring? Snoring is when the airflow goes through the nose causing the vibrations to come out the mouth. Snoring is more common in males than females. About 45 percent of males snore and 30 percent of females. Most people usually will snore after a viral illness, after drinking alcohol, or when taking some kind of medication. When I think of snoring really loud, I usually imagine a big guy with a thick neck , but I was wrong a woman with a thin neck can snore as loud as the big guy can. As people grow up, and they weight more the snoring gets louder. Somethings Snoring can be a medical problem, it depends of on how badly the person snores. Snoring can be cured it all depends on the partner or room mate. The cure is with surgery. It might not take the whole snoring away but it can minimize it a lot.

anemia

What is anemia? Anemia is a medical condition where the body is lacking of red cells, its below the normal line. The normality for the amount of red cells in your body depend of if your a female or a male. Anemia is caused by the minimizing of red cells make in the body, lack of vitamin B12, bone marrow disease, and not enough iron. Anemia can also be genetic, not necessarily anemia but other kind of disorder which can lead up to anemia. Iron is the main principal of the making of the red cells, if there is not enough iron in the body no red cells are made which causes anemia. Some symptoms for some people are fatigue, being tired, looking pale, being short on air. Others do not experience any symptoms. When I was younger i had this sickness. I had no symptoms at all, I did everything like normal. Until one day when i woke up my bed sheets and pillow there all covered with blood. My uncle and my grandmother took me to the hospital because my mom was not there at the moment. And they told my grandma that i had anemia but only the begining of it. So i had to eat a lot of things that contained iron for almost two months. It was a scary feeling and uncomfortable months. They would always sit with me until i eat the meal , if not i could not get up the table. After that day I started to feel tired becuase of all the blood that i did not have in my body.

Bulimia Nervosa

Bumilia Nervosa is another kind of eating disorder. It's often just called bulimia. Bulimia is when you eat a lot of food in a short amount of time. When the person eats a lot of food in a short amount of time it's called binging. After the person goes through the period of binging, they get the feeling of guilty and shame. When this happens the person tries undoing what they just did by sometimes just throwing up, exercising, or just not eating, this process is called purging. Bulimia is most similar to anorexia in some ways. People who are bulimic go through phychological depressions, anxiety like anorexic people. Some of the symptoms are chronically inflamed and sore throat, swollen glands in the neck and below the jaw, tooth enamel and gastroesophageal reflux disorder. This eating disorder sometimes is passed geneticly, or if theirs some one in the family that already went throught this disorder. Also if the female has had any sexual abuse there a possible chance that they can go through this disorder. The females that are mostly at risk for this are the white middle class womend, families with history of mood swings, or just some one who has very low self-esteem. This disorder can be treated with medicine, phychotheraphy, and family theraphy.

Anorexia Nervosa

What is Anorexia Nervosa? Anorexia Nervosa is often just called anorexia. This eating disorder is just one of the eating disorders there is. Anorexia is more than just not eating it's also a psychological disorder. It all begins as trying to loss weight, over time this so called "losing weight" becomes an endless cycle of restrictive eating, taking pills, exercising more than you need to just to lose weight. This also means that you can even starve yourself just because you have the sensation your fat. Researchers have yet not found a reason why people have this disorder, they think its inherited but they aren't sure. 95% of females are affected with this but males can also get this. Some symptoms and signs are noticeable weight loss, excessive exercise, fatigue, always being cold, muscle weakness, obsession with food, calories, and recipes, and irregular menstruation. There is an estimated 10 to 20 percent of the people that die from complications. Anorexics usually focus on losing weight and calories to block their feelings and emotions. For them its more simply to focus on losing weight then confronting their problems. And because of these anorexics have a low self-esteem, and think they don't deserve to eat. The only way you can help anorexics, is by them admiting they have a problem. Then they go trough psychological, nutrition, and medical care.
