Anorexia Nervosa

What is Anorexia Nervosa? Anorexia Nervosa is often just called anorexia. This eating disorder is just one of the eating disorders there is. Anorexia is more than just not eating it's also a psychological disorder. It all begins as trying to loss weight, over time this so called "losing weight" becomes an endless cycle of restrictive eating, taking pills, exercising more than you need to just to lose weight. This also means that you can even starve yourself just because you have the sensation your fat. Researchers have yet not found a reason why people have this disorder, they think its inherited but they aren't sure. 95% of females are affected with this but males can also get this. Some symptoms and signs are noticeable weight loss, excessive exercise, fatigue, always being cold, muscle weakness, obsession with food, calories, and recipes, and irregular menstruation. There is an estimated 10 to 20 percent of the people that die from complications. Anorexics usually focus on losing weight and calories to block their feelings and emotions. For them its more simply to focus on losing weight then confronting their problems. And because of these anorexics have a low self-esteem, and think they don't deserve to eat. The only way you can help anorexics, is by them admiting they have a problem. Then they go trough psychological, nutrition, and medical care.
